Ignore youth at your peril

It is now official. Obtaining a university or college qualification these days is not a guarantee that the graduate will be absorbed into the job market immediately.

It is a struggle out there, from getting good marks in the college classroom to getting that desired job is not easy. But what is even worse and exceedingly painful is finding absolutely nothing to do after a successful completion of studies.

First, you will find that government assistance schemes are too cumbersome to satisfy and achieve your plans. As you read this, either a minister is addressing a Kgotla meeting somewhere or the President is distributing blankets to the poor. They preach backyard gardening, self-sustenance, and patriotism and speak about how the economy is not doing well while they spend thousands of pula traversing the length and breadth of this country doing things that were better left to social workers and district commissioners as experts.
