'Glad Tidings' for the Central District

It is common knowledge that the Central District Council is the largest council in the country. While being big is generally desirable, this does not seem to be the case with the people of the Central District regarding the size of their council, which is unwieldy, to put it mildly.

With 172 councillors packed for up to three weeks at a time in chambers designed for a considerably smaller number in Serowe, it is a wonder they have not suffocated for lack of oxygen.

 
It is also a wonder that they do somehow fit in the smothering confines and proceed to make an attempt to contribute to the development of their respective wards, at times even tabling the occasional motion.
In a country where the mercury can breach the 40-degree mark, and where the sun scorches the earth for much of the year, any achievement by these councillors is a marvel.
