Disappearance of ivory from government store is worrying

We learn that recently undisclosed volumes of ivory or elephant tasks were stolen at a storage in Kasane.

 This is really worrying, considering that the theft of  the ivory is taking place in a country that prides itself with combating poaching. More worrying are reports that the ivory theft may have been an inside job as there were no break ins reported. Some encouraging news  to the effect that some ivory marked Kasane was found in Zambia is indeed welcome.

BOFEPUSU and the Umbrella opposition
The Umbrella opposition received a shot in the arm this weekend when the mighty BOFEPUSU declared that this model of opposition unity is the only working solution that should be explored and embraced by all hoping to wrestle power from the ruling Party. We can only hope that  this public declaration by BOFEPUSU will not enrage the ruling Botswana Democratic party(BDP) and cause them to continue the purge of the unionists  which has been the order of the day since the historic  two months public workers' industrial action.
