Clearly, these students would have come from as far as Seronga, Gunotsoga, Maitengwe and Kasane and they would naturally be without any accommodation in the city or enough money to make the many and tedious trips to the hall before being helped.
We have even heard stories of students sleeping in the halls as they had nowhere to go before they finally processed their papers and went back to their respective villages to wait for the schools to re-open.
The long process coupled with hundreds of students resulted in other students reporting very late at the institutions where they had been admitted.
The procedure did not spare the students who were going to schools outside more especially in South Africa where they would have to deal with another hurdle of registering late for their studies.
It underscores the indispensable role women play in our society, particularly in building strong households and nurturing families.
