Club chairmen are to blame for MABC debacle

The Premier league now has a sponsor and Batswana can now watch their favourite premier league football teams playing. The angst that the unceremonious stoppage of the league caused to many a football fan has been unbearable. We are grateful that Be Mobile has decided to play ball with  the elite league after weeks of uncertainties.

In the euphoria of the Be Mobile sponsorship we should not forget that before Be Mobile SOS we had been duped into believing that the league had a sponsor. No less than a structure representing chairmen of Premier league clubs (Board of Governors) were waxing lyricall about a P65 million pula sponsorship from MABC. We all know what happened to that fairytale sponsorship. MABC sponsorship was a dummy. As a result the league that had started late it had to be stopped abruptly and thus creating more anxiety for football fans and calling into question the calibre of men who run our football.
