Bhagat fiasco calls for serious introspection

Wednesday's judgement delivered a deadly blow to the confidence that patients had in Bhagat. As the country's most publicly known medical practitioner Bhagat had become inevitably one of the few faces that represented the medical profession.
Justice Michael Leburu's judgement that the doctor has been practising without a valid registration and that he had been purporting to be a cardiologist, must have sent shivers down the spines of patients who had put so much faith in Bhagat as a doctor to help them with their ailments. A doctor's role in society cannot be a light matter.
