Agriculture needs government boost

Calls by Trade Minister, Neo Moroka for the commercialisation of agriculture are timely and more than welcome if Botswana is to achieve self-sufficiency in food production.

Media reports indicate that Moroka called for the commercialisation of agriculture when speaking at the just ended Gantsi agriculture show.

It should be encouraging for Batswana to get counselling on how the country's neglected and collapsing agricultural sector could be better harnessed to yield positive results.
Surely, agriculture could hold Botswana's potential for economic growth if the sector is properly managed.
