Calling for little government activity beyond policy, renowned economist Keith Jefferis calls for the emergence of firms that can compete successfully in regional and international markets

Botswana must adopt an outward-looking policy in its bid to seek new sources of growth as the country faces declining revenues from diamonds, analysts reckon.

Speaking at a Public Forum sponsored by Botswana Society in Gaborone yesterday, the Managing Director of Econsult, Keith Jefferis, said it was clear that whatever economic activities were to lead the economy into the future, they must also be export-based.
