Walvis Bay links Botswana to Europe

The Port of Walvis Bay is becoming a real alternative and choice for importers and exporters in the region, says a local freight forwarder.

During the past 10 years, the port has invested more than N$ 600 million to do upgrades in infrastructure to facilitate the increase in demand for handling more imports and exports for the southern African region.

The Port of Walvis Bay provides a major advantage through its location on the west coast of southern Africa to ensure quick transit times between Europe, the Americas and the southern African markets. During a recent visit to Botswana, where the Walvis Bay Corridor Group did an update on the latest developments to this market, a major freight forwarder acknowledged the fast transit times between Walvis Bay and Europe.
