'Walvis Bay Is Swift And Fiddle-Free'

Good security, zero pilferage, short transit time, no port congestion and good personal service are factors presented as advantages of using the Namibian Port of Walvis Bay at a special information session of the Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG) in Gaborone recently.

In February this year, Botswana and Namibia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to secure a piece of land measuring approximately 36,000 square metres adjacent to the Walvis Bay for the development of a dry port facility for Botswana. Last week, President Ian Khama was on an official visit to Namibia, partly to work out the modalities of implementing the MoU.

The South African-based WBCG's business development manager, Zunaid Pochee, described the Walvis Bay port as secure, with zero rate pilferage and a short transit time.
