US recovery lifts Wilderness profits

Wilderness Safaris has recorded a significant 72% rise in profit after tax largely on the back of a recovery in the primary source market, the United States.

For the six months period ended 31 August 2013, the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) listed company's profits jumped to P48 million from P287 million in the previous period as revenues increased by 16% to P778 million.

 South Africa and Botswana contributed about 76.5% and 31.5% respectively to the group's revenues.
