Upmarket guesthouse targets corporate clientele

FRANCISTOWN: The country's second city has a new state-of-the-art guesthouse, which targets executives.

Aptly called Comfort Palace, by Friday the establishment will be in its fourth week. Situated in the upmarket suburb of Selepa, just east of the city centre, Comfort Palace is under the proprietorship of 41-year-old Anicia Mbanga. Her husband Esau, is at hand to welcome guests at the facility."Executives and corporate individuals usually shy away from using guest houses and prefer hotels. This is because guesthouses are not well equipped to cater for some of their needs. Our facility is different from other guesthouses because it has most provisions required by executives and corporate personalities just like in hotels," Mbanga told Mmegi recently.

The five roomed facility boasts of new state of the art furniture and interiors.  The guesthouse also boasts of a modern swimming pool and garden, exclusively for executives and other visitors in need of authentic relaxation.  The facility has wireless Internet and all rooms are fully equipped with television sets."We also have a chef who prepares daily meals for our clientele at a fee. This is usually not the case with other guesthouses. Our facility also has a new state-of-the-art shower and bathtub," she added. Mbanga said she has invested nearly P750 000 of her personal savings on furniture, interior design and other logistics. "This used to be our residence before we decided to turn it into a guesthouse," she said. Comfort Palace currently has a staff compliment of six who include a chef, gardener, receptionist and room attendants.
