Unigem CEO resigns

The Chief Executive Officer of Unigem, a company owned by the public sector trade unions, has resigned with immediate effect.

Pido Siwawa cleared his desk Friday, his last day at work. Siwawa was the first CEO of the trade union company that is hardly a year old.

While he was not available for comment, the chairman of Unigem board of directors, Samuel Molaodi, has confirmed the resignation, saying Siwawa had cited personal reasons. He is leaving at a time when the five unions that own the company have embarked on an indefinite strike following a pay dispute with the government.
