Bokamoso Private Hospital will open doors to the public on the second week of January next year. In a statement, the hospital says it is currently preparing for statutory licensing by the Ministry of Health (MoH).

The hospital's Chief Operating Officer of the 300-bed facility, James Pickle, says they will start with 200 beds and a 30-bed rehabilitation centre while the remaining 100 beds will be added in due course. Speaking at a pre-launch media briefing last week, Pickle said everything was in place for opening next month. The hospital has so far recruited a staff of 275 who are currently undergoing orientation on hospital procedures, systems and processes.

Equipment was being installed and tested as the media went on a guided tour of the hospital that boasts the latest innovations in medical technology, some of which will be available in Botswana for the first time. There are operating theatres for surgery and procedures, as well as radiology and pathology laboratories.
