StanChart predicts record full-year results

Boosted by consistent rising output in both consumer and wholesale banking, Standard Chartered Bank Botswana has predicted that it will post record full-year results.

Outgoing Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Michael Wiegand, told a media briefing last Thursday that they were anticipating the record results due to unreservedly accelerated business activity in the two sections during the second half of 2011.

Last August, Stanchart released a record half-year results with profits rising to P176.5 million for the six months ending June 30 2011, marking a 44 percent increase from the same period in 2010.
