Stage set for Global Expo 2007

The Botswana Export Development and Investment Authority (BEDIA) and Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) says they are ready to host the second Global Expo Botswana that is beginning next Wednesday.

At a joint press conference at the BEDIA offices in Gaborone on Wednesday, the Chief Executive Officer (Acting) of BEDIA said they hope this year's expo will be bigger than the 2006 one. Brian Mosenene said the number of exhibitors had grown by 50 percent from last year's.

Up to now, 144 exhibitors comprising 52 foreign companies and 92 local entities have been secured; an additional 20 exhibitors are expected to sign up this week. Earlier this year, BEDIA said it was aiming at 200 exhibitors with 6000 visitors for this year's show.
