SPTC and Botswana Post sign rates collection deal

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Botswana Post and Selebi-Phikwe Town Council (SPTC) have signed a contract on the collection of rates and service levy.

Speaking at the event held last week, Town Mayor, Godfrey Mbaiwa, revealed that the local authority is owed more than P2 million by members of the public through service levy and rates arrears. He explained that the council is faced with a huge task of having to collect the debts from the community.

He explained that most of the defaulters are no longer staying in Selebi-Phikwe and it is hard to pay the arrears.
