S/Phikwe feels the squeeze of the recession

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The Mayor of Selebi-Phikwe Amogelang Mojuta says his council (SPTC) is feeling the squeeze of the global economic recession.

Speaking to Business Today after the halting of a project to build more houses for teachers, Mojuta said the council was in the grip of massive budget cuts that will be on the agenda for the next full council meeting.

He said SPTC must learn to stay within the budget because supplementary funds to cover overspending will not be available any more.
