South African footwear retailer, Shoe City trading in Botswana as Shoe Town, has exited the Botswana market, closing all three of its local stores after more than five years of operation as part of a broader regional shutdown that also affects Namibia and South Africa.

One of the store managers of Shoe Town in Botswana confirmed to BusinessWeek that the business was pulling out of Botswana as part of a regional shutdown of stores in other countries.
