Sefalana property portfolio boosts revenue

Sefalana's property portfolio in Botswana and Zambia is performing well and generating significant revenue for the diversified listed group, the company has said.

In the company's Annual Report 2013, Sefalana group managing director, Chandra Chauhan noted that they continue to identify key locations for their store openings and to purchase properties considered strategically positioned to provide long-term value for shareholders.

Chauhan said their Zambian property is fully let and generates a very good rental stream. "Capital growth in value of the property was approximately 9 percent this year," he said. He added that the Botswana portfolio continues to generate a strong rental yield with an average capital appreciation of seven percent.
