Science Park phase two project to commence in 2013

Botswana Innovation Hub (BIH) Science and Technology Park phase two project is scheduled to begin next year.

The Park is meant to provide a fitting home and focal point for the ICT industry in Botswana. The construction phase of the 73, 000 square meter iconic building, which will be the BIH office building, is expected to start in second quarter of 2013. The Phase one project, which entailed construction of roads infrastructure, drainage and sewerage, as well as water and power systems, was completed in February 2012.

Speaking at the launch of the project, BIH chief executive, Allan Boshwaen said the BIH was established to assist with economic diversification, which will be achieved through the attraction of relevant foreign direct investment, specifically in transfer and adaptation, commercialisation of research products and the fostering of a stronger national system of innovation.
