Salary review halts FIC CEO appointment

FRANCISTOWN: The Francistown City Council (FCC) has reportedly halted the appointment of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for its Francistown Investment Company (FIC) in order to review the latter’s remuneration package.

Recently, Francistown mayor Sylvia Muzila told a full-council meeting that the council had failed to identify a suitable CEO to lead the company.

However, insiders told BusinessWeek that the council stopped the appointment in order to review the salary and allowances of the CEO, which were found to be ‘too high’.
