SADC Stats Committee Meets in Gaborone

Botswana's Central Statistics Office (CSO) is this week hosting the 15th annual meeting of the SADC Statistics Committee (SSC) at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) from today.

The SSC meeting is taking place alongside a workshop of the National Strategies for the Development of Statistics (NSDS). The meeting rotates annually among SADC member states.

The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, under the ambit of which the CSO falls, says in a statement released on Friday that the main objective of the meeting is to provide strategic policy guidance to the implementation of the various statistics programmes and projects undertaken in SADC.
