SA moves against used car imports

South Africa has launched a probe on what its media has termed "the pouring across" of used second-hand vehicles from Botswana, Namibia and Swaziland BusinessWeek has learnt.
The probe comes as South African carmakers, many of them under the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers SA (NAAMSA), decry the pressure on their businesses from cheaper used imports registered in Botswana and Namibia.
