FRANCISTOWN: The Minister of Trade and Industry, Dorcus Makgato-Malesu has urged the private sector to be hands-on in the Economic Diversification Drive (EDD).

Makgato-Malesu was performing the closing ceremony of the 12th National Business Conference (NBC) in Francistown last week. The minister said that she is going to put pressure on the private sector as much as they (the private sector) equally put pressure on the government to diversify the economy. She said that the private sector should take it upon itself to push EDD.

"I am going to put pressure on private sector as much as you put on government. In your individual capacity be EDD driven," she said. The minister said that for resolutions made at NBC conferences to be effective, there must be accountability by both the private sector and government.
