Phikwe vendors seek audience with minister

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Street vendors have appealed for a meeting with the Minister of Trade and Industry Neo Moroka to discuss their grievances. The vendors have requested the Selebi-Phikwe Town Council (SPTC) to arrange the meeting so that they can air their grievances directly to the minister.

The call comes after the council evicted the vendors from their trading areas because they were operating illegally. During a meeting with the mayor Benjamin Bagayi and his predecessor Molosiwa Molosiwa, the vendors through their chairman Serefete Osupile said small business people have serious problems and face daily challenges.

Osupile said the recent relocation of barbers from near the mall has adversely affected their business.
