Phikwe Co-op forges ahead in a hostile enviroment

FRANCISTOWN: Of a total of 156 countrywide, the Selebi-Phikwe Consumer Cooperative is one of a few that are still operational.

Its success is attributed to a sound management team backed by reliable members of the community, says David Tukishi, the Chairman of the co-op's management committee.

Since its establishment in 1972, the Selebi-Phikwe Consumer Co-op has not experienced any serious financial problems. Tukishi says one of their advantages is that they own the building in which they trade.
