Pensions industry needs adjudicator

Unions have called for the creation of a pension funds adjudicator (PFA) in Botswana, which will be a transparent and independent body.

Commenting after the annual retirement conference held at Boipuso Hall on Monday, Botswana Teachers' Union (BTU) president Japhter Radibe said like workers with an Industrial Court, the pension funds industry needs an established adjudicator.

"We need it (Pension Funds Adjudicator). If it is there, it enables complainants to follow the progress of their cases," said Radibe.
