Palapye Glass Project 70% complete

PALAPYE: The country's main agency for commercial and industrial development, the Botswana Development Corporation (BDC), has identified domestic and regional markets for glass and is getting ready to supply them, journalists on a guided tour of selected BDC projects in Palapye learned on Monday.

The tour covered mainly multi-million pula projects being built by Chinese contractors, among them the Palapye Glass Project and the Palapye Steel Pipe Plant.

Speaking through a translator, the Site Manager at Palapye Glass Project, Tan Peixin, explained that the P550 million project is scheduled for completion by the end of this year. Peixin said civil works are about 70 percent completed and that approximately P410 million has been disbursed so far.  The project started in May last year.
