Non-state actors get foreign cash

The Non-State Actors (NSA) Capacity Building Programme will receive about P60 million from the European Development Fund, said Lena Sund, a representative of the Delegation of the European Commission in Botswana.

The programme is called the Large Grant Call for Proposals. It is the mainstream  project for development cooperation between the  European Union and the 78 African, Caribbean and Pacific countries.

The Large Grant Call for proposals is made up of two major components - capacity building and grants. It is aimed at equipping Non-State Actors in Botswana with skills, capacity and financial resources. Speaking at the launch of the project on Tuesday, the chief economist at the Ministry of Finance, Steven Kebakile said that the government of Botswana will be committing about P5.28 million to the project.
