Due to the increase, households consuming up to 200 kilowatts per hour (kWh) are now subject to a seven percent increase in tariffs. The tariff increase rises to 10 percent whenever the households use more than 200 kWh, according to the approved rates.

In addition to the tariff increase, domestic users are now being charged P2.86 more on the fixed administration fee, which covers billing costs and payment of commissions to electricity vendors for those on prepaid electricity.
