New BSE regulations delayed again

Implementation of the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) proposed new listing requirements, which includes vetting of directors and early submission time of the audited financials among others, will be postponed again beyond the revised September deadline.

The new rules were initially supposed to kick in at the start of June 2016 but were postponed to September this year to allow for further consultations with market participants.

According to chief executive officer (CEO), Thapelo Tsheole they have decided to postpone the implementation of the regulations after establishing through consultations with the market that there are some crucial issues that needs to be addressed.
