Mosu sole winner of mines' first awards

FRANCISTOWN: Fifty-four year-old Batshedi Mosu emerged the winner of two awards at a glittering ceremony to launch the first-ever awards for Orapa and Letlhakane Mines last Thursday.

Mosu, a mining engineer specialising in drilling and blasting, won the Diamond Award and the Centaurus Award in recognition of his innovative pipes used to protect the mine wall during blasting.

Mosu's creation eliminates the need for a second blasting, saving Debswana P1.9 million in the process.
