Moroka urges chain stores to 'Buy Botswana'

FRANCISTOWN: The Minister of Trade and Industry, Neo Moroka, has called on chain stores and other large businesses to support small-scale enterprises.

Speaking at the official opening of Foods by Melittah, a biscuit confectionery, Moroka commended stores like Meriting Spar, Tutume Spar and the Choppies group for giving Foods by Melittah a chance to supply them despite its early stage and small size.

"This is the kind of business-to-business linkages that we would like the private sector to give serious attention to because it results in the growth of the local economy and increased demand for goods and services in the local market which, at the end of the day, is in the interest of the business," the Minister said.
