Mohohlo attributes P200 bill to inflation policy

The characteristics of the local currency were reviewed in order to ensure that the public continues to be well served in an evolving socio-economic environment and in line with international best practices.

Speaking at the launch of new bank notes last Friday, the Governor of the Bank of Botswana (BoB), Linah Mohohlo, said the portrait on the new P200 bill recognises and celebrates women, children and the noble teaching profession.

The other denominations bear only minimum changes. Many of the changes are the first of their kind since the Pula was introduced 33 years ago in four denominations of P1, P2, P5 and P10.
