KASANE: The Ministry of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism has issued a stern warning against mining companies that do not adhere to the multilateral environmental agreements and associated protocols.

Minister Kitso Mokaila issued the warning last week at the closing ceremony of Paste 08, which was hosted by Debswana at Mowana Safari Lodge.

"It is with concern that we are learning through sad experience that not all industry players, upon obtaining licences and permits, undertake the requisite environmental monitoring in accordance with the Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)."
