There are several investment opportunities, such as the hospitality sector, which remain unexploited in Lobatse. Local businessman Tafa Tafa explained to participants at a special business forum on Wednesday that if people had bigger apartments, they could use them for commercial purposes because the government has initiated the new hospitality licensing, which allows domestic houses to be used to accommodate guests. Apparently Lobatse, with a population of......people, has only one hotel and three guesthouses.He said tourism also plays a vital role in the country's economy so it is ideal for investment purposes.
" Lobatse has a beautiful landscape, so it can be utilised for the purposes of developing the economy", said Tafa. He explained that there is need for people to focus more on developing further the existing products. Botswana tourism is premised on the statutory mandate to promote and improve standards in the tourism industry. This will assist in determining whether there is lack of sufficient knowledge, skills or attitude.
