Lobatse fights to diversify

"We should try as much as possible to minimize procurement of goods and services which are otherwise available in Lobatse from elsewhere."

Choppies' chief executive officer, Ramachandran Ottapath, said last Wednesday when he spoke at a special business forum organised to survey ways and means of diversifying the economy of one of the country's most picturesque and oldest towns.

Themed, "When You think Investment, Think Lobatse", the forum was arranged to inform and educate attendees on the existing businesses in the town and how best upcoming entrepreneurs could start theirs. It was also designed to foster mentorship amongst existing and upcoming businesses, all efforts being part of a diversification drive for Lobatse.
