Liquor traders asked to obey trading hours

As the country gets into swing of the festive season, liquor traders and their patrons have been asked to observe hours of business as stipulated in the Trade and Liquor Act or face the law.

A statement issued by the Permanent Secretary (Acting), in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Gaylard Kombani, expresses concern that liquor traders have a tendency to disregard official trading hours during holidays, especially at Christmas.

"Therefore, all liquor business owners and/or managers are reminded to comply with the law," the statement says, "any violation will result in punitive measures being taken against (offenders)."
