Letshego to re-apply for banking licence

In its quest to transform into a broader financial institution, Letshego Holdings Limited says it will revisit reasons given by the Bank of Botswana (BoB) when turning down its banking licence.

Speaking at the company's financial results presentation last week, Letshego outgoing Managing Director Jan Klaassen said key among the reasons is inclusion of local communities into the financial sector.

"Financial inclusion was one of the reasons our banking licence request was turned down. We intend to take our time and study the reasons for turning our application down before making another request," Klaassen said.
