The Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) has engaged consultants to conduct a feasibility study on setting up a leather park in Botswana.

The research will cover affluent infrastructure, a training centre and shells for investors in wet blue, retaining and finished leather plants to set up shop in the country. Speaking at a seminar to analyse the industry held in Gaborone on Wednesday, LEA research manager, Dynah Solani indicated that the leather industry needs to be developed as currently its import bill is higher than the export bill.
