Kimberlites found in Tsabong

LONDON: Firestone Diamonds has discovered four new kimberlites at its Tsabong project in Botswana. The kimberlites, which range in size from 5 hectares to 18 hectares take the total known number in the Tsabong project area to 78.

The group said it has substantially increased its planned core drilling programme from 6,000 to 12,000 metres and will drill a 500 metre vertical hole into each kimberlite to obtain fresh, undiluted material for detailed analyses.

It added that a second core rig is being mobilised at MK1, which is expected to start drilling by the end of April, on top of the core drilling which commenced last month.
The 10 kimberlites we have selected for core drilling have all been proven to contain diamonds and have good indicator mineral chemistry, said CEO Philip Kenny.
We look forward to the results of this evaluation work, and continue to believe that Tsabong has the potential to produce a major economic discovery, he added.
