Khama, Zuma agree on trade, transport co-operation

South Africa and Botswana are to co-operate in several sectors including transport, immigration, defence and security, energy, trade and the environment.

This emerged at the conclusion on Thursday of the three-day binational commission aimed at solidifying co-operation between the two countries. Botswana President Ian Khama and President Jacob Zuma concluded the commission with discussions aimed at boosting relations, after meetings between officials from both countries.

The importance of tweaking cross-border arrangements between South Africa and its smaller neighbours took centre stage.
