Kazungula bridge means opportunities for the private sector

The bridge, which is expected to cost Botswana US$95 million (P646 million), will link Botswana to Zambia over the Zambezi River. Only a pontoon is currently in use at the confluence of four countries, presenting great inconvenience to trade, tourism and immigration.
Government plans to include a railway line alongside the road across, carving out an economic corridor to the north. Last week, the Co-ordinator of the Transport Hub, Thapelo Leareng, told The Monitor that the historic project was laden with opportunities for the private sector that several studies had identified.
