The Minister of Works and Transport Lesego Motsumi has finally delivered the bad news of job redundancy at Air Botswana when the national airline ceases to operate with the coming of a new venture.

Human resource experts have been appointed to help Government negotiate redundancy packages with affected staff.

In her address to the airline's executive management this week, Motsumi said that the new company would offer jobs to "suitably qualified and experienced staff of Air Botswana and other Batswana." Currently, Air Botswana has about 300 employees, but with the coming of a strategic partner, only 200 or less will be retained.
