Italian firm sues LEA for P2m

The Local Enterprise Authority's (LEA) business incubator programme has come under fire of a scorching type as an Italian consultancy firm, Eurecna Can Veneto International Services, is suing the organisation for P2 million for services rendered in the design and rollout of the programme.

Business incubators are on-site intensive nurturing and facilitation of SMMEs to foster their  development  and growth from greenfield companies.

According to papers filed with the Lobatse High Court, Eurecna was contracted by LEA in 2008 to provide consultancy on implementation of an incubation programme whose scope of work included recruitment and training of incubator managers, supervision of detailed designs of the facilities, skills assessments and development of policies and procedures for the incubators.
