Indian investors eye glass and leather prospects

The Indian High Commissioner to Botswana Vishnu Hade has urged a delegation of investors from his country to consider Botswana as a base from which to export to Africa and rest of the world.

"I urge you to look beyond Botswana's small population but to look at it as a gateway to SADC and utilise the reasonable access quotas that the country enjoys with economic blocs like SACU, AGOA and EPAs," Hade said to his compatriots who are on a visit to explore investment opportunities in the areas of glass, leather and coal.

The delegation was invited by the Botswana Export Development and Investment Authority (BEDIA). It is touring the country to explore partnership opportunities with local businesses.
