Impact to explore for platinum at Xade

Impact Minerals has entered into a joint venture agreement with Manica Minerals to explore for Platinum Group Elements (PGE) as well as for nickel and copper in the Xade Project in Kgalagadi.

According to a statement from Impact, the agreement relates to the company's strategic alliance to explore for PGEs in southern Africa with Impala Platinum which has recognised the exploration potential at Xade. Impact is encouraged by the support received from the company in the first stage of work at the project, the statement adds.

ASX-listed Impact has been exploring for uranium in Botswana for the past two years and has made four discoveries to-date, all during its first drilling campaigns, mainly this year. "The agreement with Manica requires Impact to spend a minimum of US$50, 000 within four months and US$1.2 million over two years to earn a 51 percent interest in the Xade Project," the Impact statement continues.
