Former Orange Botswana Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and now Microsoft General Manager for East and Southern Africa, Thapelo Lippe, has refused to put his head on the block and say he will perform miracles for the global software giant.

He said on the sidelines of the launch of Microsoft Vista retail version in Gaborone last week that he hopes to succeed.
"I promise to be myself. It is a risk that I have taken by leaving my beloved country to work for Microsoft," Lippe told Monitor Business.

Lippe is known in Botswana for taking competition to Orange rival Mascom Botswana with a wide range of products that narrowed the margin of market share.
Since he joined Orange, the company's profit margins increased by 250 percent and it has been revealed that by September 2005, the company had a paltry P800, 000 in the bank. A year later, the balance sheet was healthy reflecting P15 million.
