The Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources Ponatshego Kedikilwe has apologised for the power crisis the country is currently undergoing.

Addressing a media briefing at the Btv Auditorium on his return from a diamond conference in Israel on Friday, Kedikilwe said he regretted the effects of the energy crisis on the country's trade and industry and on the public in general. 

"I am aware of the insecurity this can have," he said, "but I can assure you that Eskom says it does not have any intentions of cutting their supply to us. They gave me their assurance that they are committed to the power agreement."
